Pianist

David Anderson received his initial musical instruction at the piano. He attended Baylor University, where he earned two degrees in piano performance (BM, summa cum laude and MM, with distinction) studying with Krassimira Jordan. During his residence at Baylor, Anderson performed extensively as a solo pianist and chamber musician, receiving numerous awards. He pursued additional study with Martin Canin at the Bowdoin Summer Music Festival in Brunswick, Maine, Wolfgang Watzinger at the Bösendorfer International Piano Academy in Vienna, and Ian Hobson at the University of Illinois.

Anderson has performed numerous times as an orchestral soloist, most recently in October 2012 as a conductor and pianist playing Mozart's C Major Piano Concerto (K. 503) with the Lake Geneva Symphony Orchestra. In addition, he has over 20 years of experience as a collaborative pianist and chamber musician. The following recordings, with Chicago Symphony Orchestra cellist Brant Taylor, are from the Elgin Youth Symphony Orchestra Faculty Recital in January of 2013.
